FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions (Forwarders)

We have listed below the most popular enquiries from visitors to our website...........

Q1.   I see that you already have a FIG Partner in [country] can I still apply to become a FIG Partner?

A1.   No Sorry, FIG Administration appoint only ONE EXCLUSIVE FIG Partner in each country (except USA)

Q2.   I am interested in applying to become a FIG Partner. What action should I take?

A2.   Simply complete our on-line application form under the 'join now' page or follow this link
APPLY

Q3.   What form of financial protection can FIG offer my company?

A3. Firstly, we conduct a strict process of approval for shortlisted applicants, aside from the obvious financial checks. We don't have bad apples in our barrel! Secondly, our Rules and Regulations allow us to 'name and shame' any late payers within the FIG Network. If payment is still not forthcoming we reserve the right to post details of late payers on the internet. FIG will always pursue any outstanding debt through the legal process. To date the FIG Network has a 100% record of NO BAD DEBT!

Q4.  Do you have a standard Agency Agreement?

A4.   No. Our FIG Partners have voted against any form of Agency Agreement. They have also elected not to have a 'bond', where members pay a lump sum into a 'holding (interest bearing) account' to be accessed in the event of bankruptcy or bad debt. Our Partners take the view that Agency Agreements offer no guarantee of payment and that the FIG process (see Q3.) offers a satisfactory solution.

Q5.  What guarantees can FIG offer to increase our business?

A5.   There are no guarantees!  As with any network, the more you put in, the more you will benefit. Each year, FIG Administration review the FIG Membership to eliminate any 'passengers'. It is a stipulation that no FIG Partner should fail to attend the FIG AGM two years running without good reason. FIG Administration will work diligently to maximise opportunities for all members using all marketing methods at their disposal.

Q6.  What does the future hold for the FIG Network?

A6.   Remember that the FIG Network is still very young! Whilst there are significant benefits to joining the FIG Network now, the real benefits begin once we have full global coverage (September 2006). Only then can we say that we have a  viable alternative to the multi-nationals and an attractive proposition to all importers and exporters. FIG Administration are already working on standardisation of web-based track & trace & communication software. Leveraged discounts are next on the agenda whilst we continue to strengthen the FIG brand and awareness of the FIG Network. Because we operate exclusive territories, it is unlikely that opportunities to join the FIG Network will arise very often. Hence our Partners take the long-term view that they will enjoy the immediate benefits of increased trade, and reap the 'real rewards' as the network grows.
